Goal Setting Glossary

What is a goal?

Think of a football team running up and down the field, with no goal posts at either end...

Not much point to that, is there?

A goal is something that is aimed at. You are at point A, and you want to get to point B, which is your goal.

A goal is not a wish, and it is not a dream. It is something that is progressively worked towards.

A simple example would be:

"I want to go to dinner at Luigi's Italian restaurant."

You make the reservation.

You get in the car, and travel to the restaurant.

You enter Luigi's, and you are shown your table.

Bon appetit!

If you wanted to eat at Luigi's, but sat on your butt, thinking about it, you'd probably end up eating a TV dinner.

A goal is something that is progressively worked towards.
