From: David, Johannesburg, South Africa
"Some years ago, while at university, I was lent the book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by a friend, and read only one chapter. I placed an affirmation on my wall, and used this every day. It's thanks to that book that I got my degree. I'm sure of it. I recently bought myself another copy of the book, and I've started reading it. This time I plan to read the whole book."

On Wednesday the South African Comrades Marathon took place... and what an exceptional example of goal setting and self-motivation. This is a race of some 90 km, and watching the runners, it takes guts! Especially I'm talking about the non-professional runners. This race illustrates that by taking one step at a time, exceptional goals can be achieved. Seeing people aged 50 and 60 years old completing the race within the specified time is an exceptional feat, in anyone's terms!
"What's New?"
I have added an example goal setting template, you can have a look at it here. I'd like to get your feedback: is it suitable, or is there more you would like to see included. These will start with the first issue of my newsletter, eaziGOALing to Success, starting early July.
Subscription details are included on the pop-under window.

I'm a little more than just excited - I have just finished reading John Evan's book Conversations with Successful Internet Entrepreneurs. It is a GREAT book, and I can say if you are in any way interested in e-business, this book is a must.
Speaking to a colleague recently, I was again reminded of a common problem many have: identifying what goal you want to pursue. In my personal observation and experience over the years, I have heard this many, many times. For this reason the first chapter in the eaziGOAL ebook discusses this, and I have included methods to help determine your goal.
"What's New?"
Just a reminder that this web log will be discontinued as from end June, but... you will be able to subscribe to the FREE newsletter, eaziGOALing to Success. Subscription details are included from this week (you will find details on the pop-under window).

I recalled a great book I read a couple of years, and especially remembered a part I found really inspiring. I'd like to share the following with you, from The Power of One, by Bryce Courtney:
"He would often use an analogy from nature. 'Ja, Peekay, always in life an idea starts small, it is only a sapling idea, but the vines will come and they will try and choke your idea so it cannot grow and it will die and you will never know you had a big idea, an idea so big it could have grown thirty metres through the dark canopy of leaves and touched the face of the sky.' He looked at me and continued, 'The vines are people who are afraid of originality, of new thinking; most people you encounter will be vines, when you are a young plant they are very dangerous.' His piercing blue eyes looked into mine. 'Always listen to yourself, Peekay. It is better to be wrong than simply to follow convention. If you are wrong, no matter, you have learned something and you will grow stronger. If you are right you have taken another step towards a fulfilling life.' "
Absolute great advice in that passage, and very true. How often do we allow ourselves to be choked by others? I have experienced with many, many people, and therefore I have a whole chapter that deals with this element. I have found this to be an honest-to-God killer of great possibilities. If you can find a copy of Power of One, I can recommend reading it - it's a great story.
