"Goal Setting Web Log - February"

It was a very busy week - with deadlines for the firm I work for. But, the pressure is now over.

I read an exceptional article this week, by Marcia Wieder (www.marciaw.com). The title of the article is Turning Passion Into Profit. I'd like to share this with you: "Passion is the fire in your belly. It is when you are compelled to action. Passion is the juice that will help you move mountains to accomplish your dreams and goals, personally and professionally." I can highly recommend giving this article a read (I've not yet read her other material, but if the one I did read is anything to go by, then all her material must be exceptional).

I also had the opportunity of trying new software this week. If you are interested in, or considering writing articles, Instant Article Creator is a great little program that can help you create your articles. The software was created by Kristi Sayles, and she also offers a free Article Critique for your first article. You can get full details at www.instantwritersoftware.com.

Work on eaziGOAL was a little slow this week, as result of other deadlines, but I will be getting on with this next week.

Have you noticed when someone says, "I'm not negative, but...", it's practically a certainty that something negative is going to be said, or complained about.

I was again, this week, fortunate(?) to have experienced this principle. When someone in whose company I was said exactly this, and then went into a gripe session of how bad things were. Yet, in all that was said, I never heard even a hint at a proposed solution. This again made me think of the value of goals.

When we first discover, or are made aware of a problem, a practical idea is to take some time, and analyze the situation. From this analysis, we can then devise a solution or solutions. And we don't have the power to make the changes or improvements? Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

And then I heard a pathetic example of the total absence of goal setting...

(All names are changed, to protecdt the innocent :). An arrangement was made for a person to go to a client site. Everything was arranged: plane ticket, hotel accommodation. This person on the way to the airport, received a phone call from mangement, and told the trip was cancelled, as there was a carnival in the destination country, and the firm would be closed for the week.

Now, I do believe, that in anyone's books, that is gross mis-management, and without a doubt, something that could have been prevented with just a little planning. Goal setting works!

This was somewhat of a hectic week - not with eaziGOAL, regretably. We have some tight deadlines at the company I work for (more the reason to agressively pursue my goal).

I was again reminded of the general apathetic attitude of people this week. There is an article coming on this.

Thanks to the people who visited the site, and downlaoded the free sample chapter. The comments were great.

This is a short log - I'll make up for it next time :o)

This was an exceptional week for me.

On Monday (2 Feb) I received a great mail...

It was from a man who is a motivational speaker and author, and [power lifting champ]. And before you say "so what", he is also blind!

What made the mail great, is that he has asked me to review his book, "title". This I will gladly be doing, and will include my review on this site. I do believe it will be inspiring (the book I mean).

I was chatting with a colleague (about goals, and self-motivation), and he made the comment that, "I like reading such books, but I never finish them." I believe he is in the same position as many, many others. This is what eaziGOAL is about - it is a system that enables you to not only set your goal, but enables you to REACH your goal.

This week I received the final edit of my book, Invest in Yourself. So next week this will be going to the printer. This is another goal that is sson to be reached.

The first month of the year is gone - never have it again - where are you with your goals?

I read the following from the SiteSell affliate newsletter, "The potential to grab control of your own life by starting a business on the Net, or enhancing an existing one, is staggering." This is a great piece of advice, and wisdom.

If you're interested, have a look at this site, SiteSell Results. You decide.

A friend of mine gave this quote, "Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect". The author is unknown, but this reminded me of the essence of goal setting and working towards your goal. I discuss the concept of luck in detail in the eaziGOAL manual, and give examples of people who trust in luck, and the results they have achieved (or not achieved).

This past week was somewhat rough, having my daughter to hospital in the ambulance, and then spending a night in ICU. All's well now. This just reminded me of the value of life and health.
