Success is different things to different people. What is your definition of success? Only you can define what success means to you, and when you like to emulate somebody else's success, it can mean that you spend a lifetime chasing the wind.
Success and goals go together like a horse and carriage. Goals are the road to success. When your goal is achieved, you achieve success, no matter how small you may regard that goal to be. When you have no goals, there is a very rare chance of success, as you have no yardstick to measure success against.
When you have a goal that you work towards, and more importantly one in which you progress, it is done joyfully. Without a doubt, when you work towards a goal, and you progress, even if slowly, it is a great feeling.
