Goal Setting Tools for Your Success

I have yet to hear of a self-made millionaire who actually confessed that before he made it, he didn't have to endure heartache and mountains of misfortunes. Yet somehow they all found the inner strength necessary to sweat it out and make it at the end. Normal people under the same circumstance give up, however these special people just won't quit. They remain steadfast and hold on to their inner vision, no matter what. They persevere. Although, I've heard this sentiment before, I just couldn't seem to put my finger on exactly what it is that makes people like that? What does it feel like to be so driven? That is until last night. When I discovered that yet another member of my team decided to quit because of life’s obstacles, citing that it must be "God Will".

Had it not been for them, I would not have learned what it's like to be dedicated to perseverance.

What drives a person to relentlessly pursue a project in order to achieve their goal while another gives up at the first sign of difficulties? The answer lies in whether or not that person has clear picture of their vision. How many people have you met that say that God has chosen a different path for me to follow otherwise he would not have placed all these obstacles in my way... DUH, do you actually think God wants you to quit every time something gets in your way? If you think that way the Wright brothers would've never achieved flight at Kitty Hawk. Henry Ford would never have succeeded in mass- producing the automobile. Heck, even the Pharaohs would have given up when they screwed up on the first pyramids.

We are supposed to overcome our problems not just succumb to them and avoid everything that doesn't pan out right away. When you finally realize this you will have no choice but to pursue your dreams, not because you want too, but because they are etched so deeply and permanently ingrained in your mind that you couldn't stop yourself even if you tried. You can't quite put a finger on it, but, when you feel so passionate about this special thing that your inner drive keeps you on track and helps you to calmly face all obstacles allowing you to reach your true intended destination of your inner calling. Much like a smoker who hasn't fully committed to quitting... Engraved on the smoker’s brain is the belief that it will be difficult, nay, impossible to quit. Until that notion is changed it will be just as they perceive. What the mind can conceive and believe we can achieve! Our brains accept every excuse it can find as a reason to continue on the easy road. It is much easier to fail than succeed.

There is that something special, which has no name, yet it holds such endless potential. As an outsider who has no idea what this special something is, I could only conceptually say that I actually understood it. However, as of last night, I've come to full realization as to what this state of being is. It is something I will now call Knowing.

The state of Knowing is quite different than any other state of being, you just...Know!

It's not a state of deductive analysis or even a state of conceptualizing an idea. It's the extreme state of the absolute. You just know. Once you've reached this elusive state, nothing and I mean nothing can or will stop you. Thus, you are now is fully and completely committed to a state of true perseverance.

Additionally I believe that in each of our lives, before any grand achievement can be made, that there is something or someone in the universe whose job it is to make sure that we learn the lesson of perseverance. It is definitely one of life's most formidable lessons. I bow my head in reverence to its' creative challenges. I defy you to show me one truly successful person who made it on their own that would not tell me that they've been beaten by life, they've been kicked when they are down, and that they've endured ridicule of their grand vision before they actually arrived at the place where they can enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Thus is life... There is an undeniable surge of energy in me that holds me steady on my course. Even if I must do this alone, I will make it. I just know. Here are two members remaining on my team. Do I hope they will stay? Of course, but, to tell you the truth, it is of little concern to me. If do they leave, it is only because they are not destined to succeed just yet. If they remain they will know the glory of my vision. I say to life give me all you got... Kick me, beat me and show me no mercy... I will not be held down or held back any longer. This I KNOW. Not only will I survive I will SUCCEED!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers,
whenever you face of many kinds, because you know that
the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be
mature and complete,
not lacking anything.

If any of you lacks wisdom,
he should ask God,
who gives generously to all
without finding fault,
and it will be given to him.

But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Father, I have no doubt
