Book reviews: "Feeling Your Way Through Life"

By David De Notaris
Published by Insight Publishing Group, 2001
ISBN 1 930027 34 6
Soft cover, 142 pages

This book is the story of winning. And that is winning in all areas you can think of, and against all odds. I have no doubt that I will re-read this book often - as a reminder of how fortunate I am.

David is someone who has not only overcome the obstacle of blindness, but has risen above the average to become champion athlete, and a recognized motivational speaker.

Feeling Your Way Through Life does not only cover David's experiences, but he also gives his reader practical advice.

Some of the jewels of advice he gives is: "We can talk ourselves out of something or into something."

And a powerful piece is advice is, "As soon as we stop worrying, a solution pops up. If we put our energy in worrying, that is what we will harvest. If we put our energy in faith, that will grow as well."

As you read you almost forget that this book was written by a blind person, as David makes what he achieved seem so normal. It also reminds us seeing people how much BS we carry around with us, and the trivial things we complain about.

As David says, "Whatever the problem we have in our life, someone has faced it and overcome it. So why not give it a try and improve your life? Let go of the past."

The book offers very easy reading, with every idea and principle easily understood.

I am glad I had the opportunity of reading this book, and will read it again. I can only highly recommend Feeling Your Way Through Life.
